What I Do

I'm a self-taught Junior Developer ;-) I started coding in December 2020 after moving to Denmark. I enjoy the visual and creative aspects of Frontend and am motivated to learn software development so I can find faster, simpler, or funnier ways to solve problems I find interesting or important. Currently, my time is organized around learnig JavaScript, UX, React, and Danish (Studieprøven).

I live in lovely Copenhagen with my family and our bicycles.

I am looking for my first full-time Junior Developer role.

Things I'm Good At

• Starting: In early stages, "messy" or fast-paced environments, I can quickly grasp the key objective/ bigger picture, translate vague directions into an actionable path and get crackin'.
• Cross-discipline collaboration: Naturally curious about others, I love working with and learning from folks who posess skills and backgrounds that are different from my own.
• Figuring it out: I love a challenge. Coding has energized my approach to learning and problem solving. There's something new to learn from every project. Not knowing is ok, and so is asking for help when stuck!

What I'm Looking For

I want to join a small to medium-sized company in the Copenhagen area.

Learning objectives:

• communicate regularly about my own and others' code
• contribute to a component library
• experience with different testing strategies
• deepen understanding of object-oriented programming and design priciples
• understand information architecture, interactive design and application usability

Looking for an environment which:

• supports people from diverse backgrounds
• helps people grow: connects juniors to mentors and resources needed to be successful

Work History

In the past, I have held a range of customer-facing and operational roles within a manufacturing company. I enjoyed wearing many hats and teaming with others in sales, production and engineering to ship on-time and keep customers happy.

Recently my focus has been learning the fundamentals of web + frontend development, while also attending language schools (UC Plus, Københavns Sprog) to become proficient in Danish.
